Root & Restore Wellbeing

An integrative therapy practice for self-connection, identity, and relational healing

Providing telehealth therapy to individuals and couples in Washington, DC

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

Choosing therapy is a deeply personal decision, and you deserve a space made with your whole self in mind.

About Me

A woman wearing clear glasses, hoop earrings, a beige blazer, and layered necklaces with a smile, against a plain brown background.

Hi, I’m Adriana. I’m glad you’re considering therapy as part of your wellbeing practice, and I’m excited to walk alongside you in that journey.

For nine years, I supported individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging seasons. From crisis work to psychotherapy, I found that recognizing both the entire person and the invisible threads connecting them to their history is integral to healing.

I bring curiosity, reflection, and a willingness to sit with the complicated pieces of selfhood. I believe therapy is a safe landing and a collaborative process, where you won’t have to filter out your humor, quirks, and the self-expression that makes you you. You can expect me to gently challenge the not-so-kind self-talk, or slow down the anxious narratives, all while making space for your full self.

I look forward to helping you explore identity, repair unhelpful cycles, and reconnect with what feels truest to you.

Services

Individual Therapy

Many of us inherit beliefs, values, and behaviors from our families and communities. Some of those inheritances help us thrive and connect, while others may leave us feeling detached from ourselves, our needs, or our relationships. Individual therapy provides a space to gently examine these patterns, disrupt the cycles that no longer serve you, and intentionally choose what you want to carry forward.

EMDR may be incorporated into individual therapy when clinically appropriate.

Couples Therapy

The skills we use to build a relationship aren’t always the ones we need to maintain it. You may be seeking to strengthen a new bond, navigate challenges in a long-term partnership, or find your footing through new developments. Couples therapy provides a safe and intentional space to better understand each other, strengthen your connection, and shape the relationship you want to build.

Before we begin
In our consultation call, you'll have an opportunity to share a little about what brings you to therapy and what you're hoping for. We’ll use this time to determine whether my approach may be a good fit for your needs.

During our first session
We'll talk about your history, what’s been happening in your life, what you'd like support with, and explore some goals. There will be space for questions, too.

As we continue
We'll navigate your goals together and adjust our work as your needs change. I’m here to guide you, but you set the pace.

Therapeutic Approach

Sometimes the things we believe about ourselves can feel like facts: I’m too much. I’m not enough. I can’t trust anyone. I have to take care of everyone. Something is wrong with me.

Together, we can examine the narratives underneath these conclusions; we’ll explore where they came from, what they taught you, and whether they reflect who you are today. This approach can create some distance between you and those narratives, while making new ways of understanding yourself beyond what happened to you.

And if you're feeling overwhelmed or emotionally flooded, we may slow down and use grounding practices to help you reconnect with the present moment. These practices aren't about forcing calm. They're about creating enough space to notice what's happening and decide what you need.

The approach is tailored to you. I draw from several evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based practices, and EMDR when clinically appropriate. Some sessions may involve reflection and conversation; others may involve structured exercises, practicing new skills, processing difficult experiences, or simply holding space for something you've been carrying.
